To affect practices and policies that will help secure U.S. supply of masks and respirators, including:

• Enforcement of current legislation (Berry Amendment) that requires The U.S. Dept of Defense (DOD) to acquire U.S. based military textiles (including masks and respirators) from U.S. manufacturers.

• Legislative action requiring healthcare systems to implement secure supply chain practices to ensure access to critical medical supplies in the event of pandemic infectious disease threats.

• The return of a sufficient mask and respirator manufacturing base to the U.S.

• Collaboration and funding of mask research and development.

• Federal funding of clinical research to enhance understanding and support public health policy surrounding the role of masks and respirators in reducing the spread of respiratory-generated and acquired infection.
